FAQ & Aftercare Tips
FAQ & Aftercare Tips
🖋️ Tattoo Aftercare
- Apply your chosen aftercare (our TBC Aftercare range or Skinergy) twice to three times daily until healing is complete or as instructed by your artist in session. Coconut oil is fine too.
- If you’ve used a healing film like 2nd Skin (or similar protective film), keep it in place as instructed - this helps with healing, minimizes scabbing, and protects the work. 24hrs for the first sheet applied after your session, remove and apply your second sheet at home after cleaning and air-drying the tattoo. Apply with clean sterile hands. DO NOT USE DETTOL OR SAVLON. ANTIBACTERIAL/FRAGRANCE-FREE SOAP IS SUITABLE. WASH, RINSE, TAP DRY AND ALLOW TO AIR DRY BEFORE APPLYING YOUR SECOND SHEET.
- Once the film comes off (or if you haven’t used one): gently wash with fragrance‑free soap, pat dry with a clean towel, and apply a thin layer of aftercare cream.
- Avoid picking, scratching, or removing any scabs prematurely - this can affect the finish and longevity of the tattoo.
- Avoid soaking in baths, hot tubs or pools for the first 2‑3 weeks; showers are fine if the area is rinsed gently. Keep washes to 5–10 mins and treat the tattoo gently as it is a wound.
- After healing, protect your tattoo from sun exposure: we carry SPF 30 and SPF 50 in our Skinergy range for long-term protection.
- Touch-ups are not free. You are responsible for proper aftercare once you leave our premises. Aftercare is crucial and plays a vital role in long-term results.

🧪 DIY Saline Solution Recipe
Mix at home for natural cleaning:
- ¼ teaspoon (1.5 g) non‑iodised sea salt or table salt
- 250 ml (1 cup) warm distilled or boiled then cooled water
- Stir until fully dissolved, use once daily, discard remainder
- Apply gently with sterile gauze or a clean spray bottle for 1–2 minutes
💤 Pro Numb Application Tips
Using Pro Numb cream can make your session more comfortable:
- Apply up to 2 hours before your session for full absorption.
- Cover with cling-film or plastic wrap after application to retain warmth and enhance numbing.
- During the session (once skin is open), use a numbing gel (available in our range) for extra comfort.
- Effects vary — some clients feel strong numbness, others moderate.
- Follow product instructions carefully and disclose allergies or sensitivities.
- We recommend picking up your cream before the session so you can apply at home and save time. At least an hour is required before we start tattooing.
