Using Second Skin?
Here's What To Do
Second Skin is designed to protect your fresh tattoo while it begins healing. Knowing when to leave it on, when to remove it and what to do afterwards is an important part of achieving the best healed result.
While You're Wearing It
- Leave your Second Skin on for the length of time recommended by your tattoo artist.
- Small amounts of blood, plasma and excess ink collecting beneath the film are completely normal.
- Keep the bandage clean and avoid picking or lifting the edges.
- If the seal remains intact, you can shower normally, but avoid soaking the tattoo.
Removing Second Skin
- Wash your hands thoroughly before removal.
- Remove the film slowly under warm running water.
- Peel it back gently instead of pulling straight upwards.
- After removal, wash the tattoo using Skinergy Tattoo Wash or Tattoo Repair Cleanser.
- Pat dry with clean paper towel before applying your Skinergy aftercare products.
Continue Your Healing Journey
- Clean your tattoo as recommended.
- Apply a thin layer of Skinergy products.
- Avoid scratching, picking or excessive rubbing.
- Stay out of swimming pools, hot tubs and direct sunlight while healing.
- Continue your Skinergy routine until your tattoo is fully healed.
⚠️ Remove Your Second Skin Early If:
• The seal has broken and water, dirt or bacteria can enter.
• There is excessive leaking beyond the edges.
• You develop irritation or an allergic reaction to the adhesive.
• Your tattoo artist advises you to remove it sooner.
